CHRIS SANDS
I’ve worked in the creative world for fourteen years now, and can honestly say that not one day of that has been boring. I’m one of those very fortunate people who’s work is their passion, to a point where I have been called a design anorak.
I’ve worked in-house for a large corporate, run my own company and been Creative Director and shareholder for a successful Leeds agency, from which I left in 2008 & set up my own company.
I work from the Elsie Whiteley Innovation Centre, and although I take projects on that involve myself and a few close associates, I also work in conjunction with some of the wonderful, dynamic companies in the building.
I have a love of the arts - music, dance, theatre and art which shows in a lot of my work.
Photography is a big passion of mine (the reason I ended up in design in the first place). I shoot a lot of photos for projects I am working on, and my dance photos have featured in international and national magazines (see photography page). My pictures are published worldwide as fine art prints by Milan based Quartero International.
I’ve become a coffee aficionado purely because I find the best places for great inspirational thinking is local cafes. You may see me and think I’m just skiving. I AM working, honest!
So if you’d like to meet, you name the cafe, I’ll buy the first one!
WHY YOU ARE HERE?
Well when it comes down to it, everything I preach in the work I do is about starting at a chosen point, re-assessing and moving you to a different place, one which benefits you or your organisation. So You Are Here, and now You Are Here. But most of all - it looks ace on a sign!!
The scribbly red line? When you are taught art seriously, the first thing you are made to do is make controlled scribbles, to get the line as smooth and confident as possible - so it’s about starting at the beginning and moving forward. Yep, I thought it through...
By the way....
I have worked directly for: Radisson Hotels, Sir Cliff Richard, The Canadian High Commission, EMI (USA), Phoenix Dance Theatre, Leeds City Council, Breast Cancer Haven, Calderdale Council, Bijouled, Complete Music Publishing, Yorkshire Dance, William Hill, Kingsway Music, Iona, Incredible String Band, SAA-uk (South Asian Arts UK), Ascendance Rep, Eden’s Bridge, Steeleye Span and many more.
So that’s it in a nutshell. I hope it gives you a flavour of who you’re dealing with.
