THE BRAND

The brand centres around this from the positive wording used throughout, the dynamic photos, and the logo, which represents the ripples caused when dropping a pebble into water. The effects go on for a long time - like the learning they receive and the friendships they make.


Feedback from Governors and staff is that the rebrand has had a massive impact in morale and pride in the college. And I get a big kick out of that!!


A BIT ABOUT


This has been one of the most exciting projects I’ve undertaken. The chance to help such an established institution to reposition itself and to help bring back a pride in the place is right up my street.


The college had suffered from a lack of identity for some years and had no real direction with its marketing material, and to be honest really didn’t know what its true message was.


With new life recently in the Marketing team, it was a great time to be involved on such a project.


The resulting brand reflects the fact that the college is all about the people. The buildings aren’t too great, but to the learners there that wasn’t important.


What WAS important is their respect for their lecturers, the lecturers respect for them, the friendships they made, the pride in their achievements and their pride in going to Calderdale College.


BUSINESS CARDS

The pride learners and staff felt about the college was reflected in the statement “We Are Calderdale College” which is used through adverts, on the back of business cards and most successfully on over two thousand hoodies given out free. The result of which created a huge presence on the streets of the region. The “We are Calderdale College” slogan (placed alongside statements such as “I am Team Rugby” or ”I Am Performng Arts”)  is worn proudly by staff and students alike and the hoodies even been spotted being worn by young people who don’t even attend the college!
