PORTFOLIO
Breast Cancer Haven offers free support, information and complementary therapies to anyone affected by breast cancer.
I first worked with this dynamic charity when they approached us (when I was director at H2) to help them with their appeal to open a Haven in Yorkshire.
We decided to give a lot of our time free.
I ran a branding workshop at the London
to discover the true message behind their organisation. When it came down to it, it was the stories of the people (mainly women) who came into the Haven that summed up everything. Many of them came in emotionally & physically scarred, and while they were at the Haven they all said how their lives were dramatically changed for the better.
So every piece of literature now carries a thread of real life testimonies and stories throughout, written in a beautiful handwritten font. All literature (apart from the newsletter) was stripped back to black, white, grey and pink to differentiate the charity from other breast cancer organisations.
The brand was such a success that it has now been adopted nationally by the charity.
I joined the events committee helping to fundraise for the new building. The Yorkshire Haven opened in October 2008 and is truly a beautiful place and I am proud to have been part of it.
